Oh hi, I’m Kalani.

I’m a motivated, personable, detail-oriented photojournalist currently in Dallas-Fort Worth with a slight Texan accent (sometimes more than others).

I’m young, snarky and ambitious. I’m a devourer of podcasts, sandwiches and a lot of Google Analytics. I’m a self-starter who isn’t afraid to look beyond conventional means of learning and community building.

I’m a huge fan of Googling, making nouns verbs and believe unequivocally that people are  the bee’s knees.

I’ll be graduating May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism and a minor in Social Sciences from the University of North Texas.

 

I regularly geek out over social media strategies, concise news writing, good design, quality photojournalism, Star Wars and bicycles.

I thrive in deadline-driven environments and am able to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. I believe in figuring things out and making stuff work whenever possible.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with or work to have work featured featured in/by North Texas Daily, 35 Denton, the Prison Entrepreneurship Project book/documentary, Dallas Morning News and Amarillo Magazine.
